Giuseppe (Joe) DiCarlantonio - Obit


Giuseppe "Joe" DiCarlantonio, age 82, a 7-year resident of Ft. Mohave, Ariz., passed away in his home on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

He was born in Pietracamela, Italy on December 7, 1929. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1950.

As a young man he worked as a bricklayer, and while on a construction job in western New York State, he met his future wife, Doris J. Pitts. They were married in 1957, and resided in Olean, N.Y., for 20 years. During that time he became a licensed contractor and specialized in building custom homes.

In 1977, he moved to Fountain Hills, Ariz., where he continued in the construction field. Even after retiring at age 62, he never stopped "working."

Giuseppe enjoyed all kinds of projects and inventing things. He had knowledge of all the trades and continued doing small jobs and projects around his home. He loved the river, the mountains and being outside in the warm Arizona climate. In 2005, he moved to Ft. Mohave, Ariz., to be closer to family.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Duke of Ft. Mohave, Ariz.; son, Joseph M. (Christine) DiCarlantonio of Fredonia, N.Y.; and four grandsons, Aaron, Justin and Ryan Saint-Amour and Joseph L. DiCarlantonio.

A family service was previously held at Desert Lawn Funeral Home in Mohave Valley, Ariz.

DiCARLANTONIO, Anna, 86, of Steubenville, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Trinity West.

She was born April 19, 1922, in Alvelli, Rocco Santa Maria, Termano, Italy, the daughter of the late Alessandro and Domenica DiPietro D'Antonio.

Anna was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and its CWC for 56 years and now Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church.

Anna is also preceded in death by her husband, Francesco DiCarlantonio; grandson, Franco DeSantis; brothers, Samuele and Giovanni D'Antonio and sisters, Lorina and Filomena.

Surviving are her children, Lucy (Frank) Spence, Thomas (Shirley) DiCarlantonio, Mary (Gregg) DeSantis, all of Steubenville, Reno (Jodi) DiCarlantonio of West Palm Beach, Fla., and John (Monica) DiCarlantonio of Steubenville; three brothers, Domenico and Vittorio of Rome, Italy, and Armando of Tuscany, Italy; nine grandchildren, Stevie Spence, Joey and Frankie DiCarlantonio, Tony and Alyssa DeSantis, Reno and Olivia DiCarlantonio, Johnny and Vinny DiCarlantonio; and two great-grandchildren, Gianna Marie and Sofia Grace DeSantis.

Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.

A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Tom Nau, celebrant, Fr. Walter Heinz and Fr. Edmundo Stabene concelebrants.

Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

There will be a vigil service 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Beloved wife of the late Mitchell DiCarlantonio (2000). Loving mother of Ricco (Nancy), Michael both of Capreol, Denise (Arno Wendler) of Simcoe and Roxanne (Richard Ayres) of Dutton. Cherished grandmother of Ricco, David, Jeffrey, Gino, Angie, Carly, Heidi, Kyle, Emma and great grandmother of Jaden and Maizy Jean. Dear sister of Lucienne Belanger (Gaston) of Val Caron. Predeceased by her brothers, René (late Laura), Jean-Paul (late Germaine), Lucien (Anita of Chelmsford), Roger (Joyce of Sudbury), Gerard (late Jacqueline) and by her sisters Jeannette Gaudreault (late René), Irène Duguay (late Georges) and Anita Loiselle (late Ron). Predeceased by her parents Elzéar Rivet Arméline Rivet (née Bourgeault).

Jeannine was a great cook who was happiest when surrounded by her family. She enjoyed watching sports on the television and always made the effort to travel to all her grandchildren's sporting and dancing competitions wherever they were.

Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME Hanmer / Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr., (at Hwy 69 N), Hanmer. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, Capreol on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11 am. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium.

Julia (Buscemi) Di Carlantonio

Age 61, of New Castle, DE, a retired Coventry Health Care employee, died December 31, 2009, at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Chester, PA, Mrs. DiCarlantonio was a resident of New Castle, DE for the last 16 years. She was a Medical Claims Examiner for Coventry Health Care for 12 years before retiring. Julia enjoyed fishing, crabbing and Delaware Park Horse Racing and Slots. She was the daughter of the late Julie and James Buscemi.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Joseph R. DiCarlantonio, Sr.; sons, Joseph DiCarlantonio, Jr. of Brookhaven, PA, James DiCarlantonio of North Wilmington, DE; daughter, Julie DiCarlantonio of Linwood, PA; sisters, Maryann Cook of Aston Mills, PA, Elizabeth Ward of North Wilmington, DE; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Calling hours will be after 6 pm, on Tuesday, January 5, and after 7:30 am, on Wednesday at the KANIEFSKI-KENDUS D'ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME, 3900 West 9th St., Trainer, PA 19061. Angelo DiCarlantonio of Hainesport, N.J. died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 19.
Born in Abington, Angelo was a longtime resident of Levittown before moving to Hainesport Township four years ago.

He attended Bucks County Technical High School in Fairless Hills, and Rancocas Valley High School in Mount Holly, N.J.

Angelo had been employed as a mechanic at Auto-Fix in Hainesport for the past year.
He loved his trucks and other four wheel drive vehicles.

Angelo was the beloved son of Renee (Swaby) DiCarlantonio and her fiance, Jeff Stackhouse; and Frank DiCarlantonio and his fiancee, Terry Craig.

He was the loving brother of Guisseppi DiCarlantonio and his wife, Holly, and Amilio DiCarlantonio; and the devoted uncle of Isabella DiCarlantonio. Angelo was the grandson of Carol Ganczar and Josephine and the late Guisseppi DiCarlantonio. He was the stepbrother of Jeff Stackhouse Jr., and Shannon, Christopher, Joseph and Sean Craig. He also will be sadly missed by his girlfriend, Allison Heller; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Obit–Frank DiCarlantonio


DiCARLANTONIO, Frank Sr., 76, of Steubenville, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, in Valley Hospice North, following an extended illness. He was born October 16, 1932, in Alvelli, Rocco Santa Maria, Termano, Italy; the son of the late Camillo and Lucia Volpini DiCarlantonio.

Frank was retired from Twin State Motors, where he was a mechanic, and the Jefferson Country Sheriff's Department, where he served as a sheriff's deputy; and the Convenient Food Mart, which he, his wife, and children managed for a number of years, and a member of many years at St. Anthony's Church of Steubenville, more recently Triumph of the Cross. Frank was a member of the Knights of St. Anthony, Steubenville.

Frank is also preceded in death by brothers, Francesco, Tony and Santino.

Surviving are his wife, Filomena Santoro DiCarlantonio, whom he married October 31, 1959; one son, Frank Jr. (Kathie) of Steubenville; one daughter, Marianne (Thomas Gulan) of Wintersville; one grandson, Frankie DiCarlantonio III; two brothers, Pete (Delia) of Steubenville, Victor (Maria) of Steubenville; three sisters, Rosalie DiPietro of Steubenville, Caterina (Alfredo) Torini of Follansbee, W.Va., and Ersilia (Stefano) Francini of Italy. Frank is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Candy (Guiseppe) Caruso, Theresa (Guy) Lamantia, Maria (Larry) Hauck, and Ermelia DiCarlantonio; and brothers-in-law, Joseph (Lina) Santoro, Santo (Kathy) Santoro, and Tony (Debra) Santoro; and preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Lena Santoro Veltri, Anna DiCarlantonio, and Rita DiCarlantonio; and brother-in-law, Alessio DiPietro.
